Braves Sign Veteran Outfielder

The Atlanta Braves have signed Alex Dickerson to a one-year, $1 million contract.

Dickerson spent the 2021 season with the San Francisco Giants, where he had 13 home runs, 38 RBIs, and a .233 batting average. Overall, it was a little bit of a down year for the 31-year-old, as he just had 10 home runs and a .298 batting average during the campaign before. With that, he will be looking to regain his old form as a member of the Braves.

Dickerson also offers a decent chunk of major league experience to the Braves, too. In 326 career games between the San Diego Padres and Giants, he has 39 home runs, 130 RBIs, and a .260 batting average. He will now be aiming to build on his career totals with the Braves.

Alas, Dickerson should provide the Braves with more depth in their outfield. Even if he's an extra outfielder on their roster, he will still come in handy, as he's no stranger to pinch-hitting.
