Atlanta Braves Sign Utilityman
The Atlanta Braves had added to their depth, as they have signed Brock Holt to a minor league contract. He also will be a participant at Spring Training with the major league team.
Holt is coming off of a down year with the Texas Rangers, so he will be looking to bounce back in 2022. In 76 games with the team last season, he had two home runs, 23 RBIs, and a low .209 batting average.
Holt offers immense versatility, so that should help his chances of making Atlanta's major league roster. He can play second base, third base, and in the outfield, so he could get into a fair share of action as a bench player.
In 751 career games between the Pittsburgh Pirates, Boston Red Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, Washington Nationals, and Ranger, Holt has 25 home runs, 234 RBIs, and a .262 batting average. With that, he also was an All-Star during the 2015 season and won a World Series back in 2018.
