Atlanta Braves Sign Pitcher
The Atlanta Braves are staying busy, as they have signed Collin McHugh to a two-year, $10 million contract. With that, there is a $6 million club option for the 2024 campaign and a $1 million buyout.
After opting out of the 2020 season, McHugh joined the Tampa Bay Rays for last season. With them, he did not look rusty at all and put together a fantastic campaign. In 37 appearances, with seven of them being starts, he had a 6-1 record, 1.55 ERA, and 74 strikeouts. If he can carry over this dominance to the Braves, this should end up being an excellent signing for them.
McHugh also comes with a lot of experience in the majors, too. In 247 career appearances between the New York Mets, Houston Astros, and Rays, he has a 64-44 record and 3.77 ERA. He has spent time as both a starter and reliever, but has primarily been the latter over the last handful of seasons.
Nevertheless, this is a good signing for the Braves. Let's see what other moves they make before Opening Day.
