Angels Sign Catcher To Extension
The Los Angeles Angels have signed Max Stassi to a three-year, $17.5 million contract extension. The deal also comes with a 2025 club option.
This extension shows that the Angels have plenty of confidence in Stassi being their catcher moving forward. He is coming off of the best season of his career thus far, as he had 13 home runs, 35 RBIs, and a .241 batting average. He will be looking to carry over that year at the plate into 2022.
In 301 career games between the Houston Astros and Angels, Stassi has 32 home runs, 98 RBIs, and a .225 batting average. He will be looking to improve upon these numbers with the Angels during his new contract.
Nevertheless, this has the potential to be a solid move for the Angels. It will be intriguing to see if he performs from here.
