Aaron Judge Is Peeved Over Red Sox Getting Story
The New York Yankees have been left on the outside looking in as all of the superstar shortstops have signed elsewhere. The final nail in the shortstop coffin came as Trevor Story signed with, of all teams, the Boston Red Sox (where he'll make a position change). And the face of the Yankees, Aaron Judge, is none too pleased about it.
I'm not too excited about it -- I know what that guy can do.
Judge was no doubt wondering why the Yankees haven't made any big-time signings this offseason like two of his team's chief rivals, the Red Sox, and the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Yankees were rumored to be in on all of this winter's biggest free agent names, at one time or another. But one by one, they've watched them all drop off the board: SS Corey Seager and 2B/SS Marcus Semien went to the Texas Rangers; SS Carlos Correa chose the Minnesota Twins; 1B Freddie Freeman went to the Los Angeles Dodgers; and now Story to the rival Red Sox.
The Yanks were able to swing a trade, however, bringing in 36-year-old Josh Donaldson to play third base. And hey, outfielder Michael Conforto is still out there.
Judge and Yankee fans won't have long to wait to experience the Trevor Story/Red Sox experience, as the Yankees host the BoSox on Opening Day, April 7th.
