Video: Willians Astudillo "La Tortuga Shuffle" Highlight Of The Caribbean Series
We're all hurting for some real baseball these days, as there appears to be no end in sight to the MLB lockout. So we present to you, Willians Astudillo. At the Caribbean Series, the former Minnesota Twins catcher known as 'La Tortuga', gets to first base, and does what's now known as "La Tortuga Shuffle":
Astudillo hit the game-tying single in the 8th inning, to pull Venezuela even with the Dominican, thus sparking the turtle dance, getting all of his teammates to join in.I love Willians Astudillo so damn much 😂🐢 pic.twitter.com/Vt6CFchFur

Aside from being one of the most likeable players in the sport, Astudillo is known for his legendary refusal to strikeout. In 507 major league at-bats, he's struck out a mere 25 times (and walked even less, only 10 times). His positional flexibility is also legendary, as he has played every position in the majors except shortstop.
Alas, 'La Tortuga' is a free agent now, after clearing release waivers back in November. He was beloved in his four seasons with Minnesota, and his message to Twins fans was "remember me with a smile."
No doubt anyone who watched his "La Tortuga Shuffle" at the Caribbean Series is smiling. Perhaps it might even win him an invite to training camp somewhere. When, and if, training camp ever arrives.
