St. Louis Cardinals Sign Pitcher
The St. Louis Cardinals have signed pitcher Aaron Brooks to a minor league contract. With that, he also has been invited to join the major league club at Spring Training.
Brooks spent the last two season with the Kia Tigers of the Korea Baseball Organization. While there, he pitched extremely well, which is likely why St. Louis has decided to give him a shot. In 36 appearances as a starter over those two years, he had a 14-9 record, 2.79 ERA, and 185 strikeouts. He will now be looking to carry over this kind of success back to North America, but more specifically with St. Louis.
Brooks has four years of major league experience under his belt. In 47 appearances between the Kansas City Royals, Oakland Athletics, and Baltimore Orioles, he has a 9-13 record, 6.18 ERA, and 123 strikeouts. When looking at how well he did in Korea, one has to wonder if he can improve on those numbers.
He will be aiming to pitch in the majors for the first time since 2019 and could have that opportunity with the Cardinals. Time will tell what comes to fruition.
