San Francisco Giants Sign Pitcher
The San Francisco Giants have signed pitcher Jorge Guzman to a two-year minor league deal.
This kind of contract likely means that Guzman is going to miss a decent portion of the 2022 season. It's important to note that he had a lot of elbow trouble last campaign and barely was able to pitch because of it. He also had surgery in September, so it seems that he will be sidelined for a bit from here.
Guzman was once viewed as a Top 100 prospect in the league, so he certainly is a player worth paying attention to from here. He was the major piece that went to the Miami Marlins when the New York Yankees acquired Giancarlo Stanton from them, too.
Yet, injury trouble has impacted his development thus far. In three appearances over the last two seasons with the Marlins, he had a 0-0 record, 27.00 ERA, and three strikeouts. However, in 2022, he will be looking to find his previous potential and land on the Giants' roster once healthy. Let's see what happens on that front.
