Kelly is coming off of a very good season with the Dodgers, so it's not surprising that both sides want to get a deal done. In 48 games, he sported a 2-0 record, 2.86 ERA, and 50 strikeouts. Overall, he was one of their most dependable relievers, and the same can be said for the 2020 season, too.
There certainly should still be a lot of teams pursuing Kelly once the lockout is over, however. He has a plethora of major league experience and has been very solid these last few years. In 365 career appearances between the St. Louis Cardinals, Boston Red Sox, and Dodgers, he has a 50-29 record, 3.83 ERA, and 619 strikeouts.
The Dodgers have had a rough start to this offseason, as they most notably lost both Max Scherzer and Corey Seager. With that, Clayton Kershaw's future with the team is up in the air. Yet, if both LA and Kelly have their ways, the latter is one player who they won't be losing this offseason.
