MLB Rumors: Dodgers Aiming To Extend Manager
The Los Angeles Dodgers and manager Dave Roberts are engaging in extension talks with one another. According to Bob Nightengale, the plan is to finalize one before the 2022 season begins.
When looking at how well the Dodgers have performed under Roberts, it is easy to understand why they want to keep him around. Over six seasons with the team, they have sported a 542-329 record. They have played in three World Series championships and of course, won in 2020.
Roberts is in the final year of his current contract, so it is smart that both parties have begun serious talks with one another. It's clear that the interest to get a deal done is very high, so it should only be a matter of time before it occurs.
Roberts also played 832 games between the Cleveland Indians, Dodgers, Boston Red Sox, Padres, and San Francisco Giants as a player. In them, he had 23 home runs, 213 RBIs, 243 stolen bases, and a .266 batting average.
