MLB Rumors: 3 Potential Landing Spots For Nick Castellanos

Nick Castellanos is one of the top free agents still available. Due to this, the 29-year-old outfielder should receive a lot of attention from teams around the league once the lockout is over. He is coming off of the best season of his career, where he had 34 home runs, 100 RBIs, and a .309 batting average. With numbers like these, it's easy to understand why he was named to his first All-Star Game, too.

Alas, here are three potential landing spots for him.

Miami Marlins: Derek Jeter made it known that the Marlins are looking to be a playoff team in 2022. So far, he has been aggressive this offseason because of it, as he added Avisail Garcia, Jacob Stallings, Joey Wendle, and Louis Head. However, Miami may not be done, as they have been linked to Castellanos. He grew up in the area, and he could have the chance to play in his home state. He also, naturally, would be a massive upgrade to their outfield.

Chicago White Sox: The White Sox should heavily pursue Castellanos once the lockout is over. The right field position is one where they need some help, and he is the perfect fit for it. With Chicago looking to win a World Series with their current core, they could use one more All-Star in their lineup, too. This could be a perfect match, but time will if it comes to fruition.

Philadelphia Phillies: The Phillies are known to be in the Castellanos sweepstakes, so naturally, it feels fair to state that they are a potential landing spot. Although Philadelphia currently has Bryce Harper, Castellanos has the ability to play left field if needed. Furthermore, with the Phillies ending with a disappointing 82-80 record last season, it's clear that they need another star to help get them back into the playoffs.
