Newest Blue Jays Starter Speaks Out About Ongoing Rumors
The Toronto Blue Jays couldn't be happier to have added Kevin Gausman to their rotation for 2022 and beyond. While the righty was highly sought after by many teams throughout both the American League and National League, his previous team wanted nothing to do with him. Gausman confirmed recently the Giants didn't even make him a contract offer.
I want to set the record straight for y’all bc there has been a lot of bs out there about this. SF never made me an offer. Simple as that. Anyone or anything that says otherwise is #FakeNews

Gausman took matters into his own hands to silence some rumors circulating out of California. The 31-year-old went on to sign a huge five-year deal with the Blue Jays for $110 million. Huge move for Toronto as they lost both Cy Young winner Robbie Ray and Steven Matz to free agency.
As for the newest Blue Jay, he's coming off a season where he posted a 17-9 record with a 3.00 ERA while striking out 10.9 batters per nine innings. Gausman has one of the best splitters in the league and is set to bring his swing-and-miss stuff to a Blue Jays rotation that features Jose Berrios, Hyun Jin Ryu, Alek Manoah and Nate Pearson.
Meanwhile, the Giants moved on from Gausman already, signing Alex Cobb to a two-year deal worth $20 million. With some big names not expected back in the Bay included Gausman, the retired great Buster Posey and Kris Bryant, many experts across the MLB are predicting San Fran to slide down the standings in the NL West. The Blue Jays on the other hand are primed to be huge players in the American League and expectations on Gausman include a 15-plus win season along with being top 10 in Cy Young votes. We know he's excited to pitch for a team that wants him, that's for sure.
