MLB Rumors: Rockies Interested In All-Star Outfielder
According to Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post, the Colorado Rockies pursued Kyle Schwarber before the beginning of the lockout.
Schwarber and the Rockies could be a match made in Heaven. The 28-year-old would give them that much-needed power bat they are craving. Furthermore, they do need some help in the outfield, which Schwarber of course would be able to provide. Coors Field is also known for being a very good ballpark for power hitters because of its thinner air, so that could intrigue him.
Multiple teams have been linked to Schwarber this offseason, and it's easy to understand why. During the 2021 season, he had 32 home runs, 71 RBIs, and a .266 batting average between the Washington Nationals and Boston Red Sox. With that, he made his first All-Star Game. It truly couldn't have come at a better time for him, as this kind of season only will help his overall value.
It will be interesting to see if Colorado can lure Schwarber to their team. They will have a lot of competition, but the offseason always seems to provide some surprises.
