MLB Rumors: 2 AL East Players Who Could Be Traded in 2022
The offseason moves were happening fast and furious before the lockout took place and now many of the experts across the league are predicting a flurry of transactions once the MLB is back to business. In our latest segment we'll hop around to each division and showcase a couple of players who could be traded next by their ball club.
American League East
Boston Red Sox: Bobby Dalbec: The power-hitting first baseman is coming off a season where he pounded 25 HR, however it was an up-and-down season that started off very slowly. Like most power hitters he has swing-and-miss tendencies and the Red Sox may be surveying the market to see what Dalbec could fetch in a trade. He didn't play hardly at all in the postseason and the Red Sox basically put the writing on the wall that they prefer different options.
New York Yankees: Gary Sanchez: New season, same trade rumors for Sanchez as it's been a few years in a row he's found his name mentioned to be moved out of the Bronx. All the catcher keeps doing is hitting the baseball with power as he clubbed 23 HR in 2021. Ideally the Yankees would love to see him back to driving in runs like he did in 2017 when he batted in 90 runners. His arbitration case will be interesting to watch as he's project to make $7.9 million in 2022. Look for Sanchez to either be moved by the Yanks, or shifted to permanent DH next season.
