Chicago Cubs Sign Outfielder

The Chicago Cubs have signed outfielder Clint Frazier to a one-year, $1.5 million contract. It also comes with $1 million of potential incentives.

The New York Yankees would then acquire him in 2016 and sent reliever Andrew Miller the other way. From here, he was expected to be a long-term part of the Yankees' plan.

Now, fast forward to 2021, the outfielder was designated for assignment for this offseason and will be looking to get his career back on track with the Cubs.

Frazier has dealt with many injuries during his career, but most importantly, long-term concussion symptoms and vertigo symptoms. The 2021 campaign was particularly hard for him, as he had 5 home runs, 12 RBIs and a .186 batting average in 55 games.

Yet, when combining his stats from the 2019 and 2020 seasons, he had 20 home runs, 64 RBIs and a .267 batting average in 108 games. If he can get back to that kind of production, this could become a very good move for the Cubs. However, what's most important is his health, so we hope that he's able to avoid more injuries from here.
