3 Teams Favorites to Sign LHP Clayton Kershaw
Clayton Kershaw will go down as one of the best pitchers of all-time when his career is over. While the Los Angeles Dodgers great has slowed down in recent years, he's looking to sign another multi-year contract and is open to leaving his long-time team.
3 Teams to Watch for Signing Kershaw
Texas Rangers: Besides the Corey Seager recruitment pitch that's been ongoing for weeks, Kershaw has more ties to the Rangers then you think. Manager Chris Woodward and Kershaw are close friends after spending time together in LA. Woodward has apparently reached out to the southpaw this offseason and we've all seen what type of money the Rangers are open to spending this winter. Texas should be considered the favorite as of right now.
Los Angeles Angels: Getting Kershaw paired with Noah Syndergaard would be quite the duo to pitch behind Shohei Ohtani in LA. He's very comfortable in California and could make his way to Orange County. The Angels have been trying to upgrade their rotation for years and have been wasting away Mike Trout's record setting production. Adding Kershaw would be a giant step in the right direction for the franchise.
Toronto Blue Jays: A wild-card team in the Kershaw sweepstakes, the team has shown they are comfortable signing players to expensive short-term contracts. If Kershaw is up for heading north, the Blue Jays would welcome him with open arms to fill in for the innings lost by Steven Matz and Robbie Ray. The Dodgers are going to do whatever they can to get their lefty back but if they aren't able to come to terms, expect to see the Blue Jays involved to the bitter end.
