Toronto Blue Jays Expected to Trade a Catcher
The Toronto Blue Jays have been pegged by all the major insiders to be a team to watch this offseason. The team has a few top-end players of their own who have hit free agency and management is currently mulling over some tough decisions. While interested free agents are going to come and go, the Blue Jays are also talking trade with several teams and it appears their catching depth is in fact, catching eyes.
Really hard to gauge the value of Jansen/McGuire and both are probably sell low points for the #BlueJays which is never ideal.

Jansen’s late season power surge is intriguing because he brings a lot of intangibles that people value at that position.
Both Danny Jansen and Reese McGuire are 26 years old and have been inconsistent so far in their careers. Last season Jansen appeared in 70 games and swatted 11 HR and 28 RBI. He got off to a horrible start and was able to find his power swing later in the season, including hitting .323 in his final 27 games. Out of all their catchers, Jansen is the best at working with the Blue Jays pitching staff.
McGuire on the other hand, appeared in 78 games and led all Blue Jays catchers with a .253 average including hitting 15 doubles. It was McGuire's best season in Toronto and it's no surprise his name is generating interest from other clubs.
From all accounts, expect to see Jansen moved as there appears to be more interest in the 6'2 catcher. The Blue Jays are trying to land an infielder in return who can play both second and third base. Toronto is going to be busy this offseason and it could all start with a Jansen trade.
