Tampa Bay Rays Sign Former Cy Young Award Winner
The Tampa Bay Rays have signed pitcher Corey Kluber to a one-year contract.
Kluber spent the 2021 season with the New York Yankees and did well for the most part. In 16 starts, he had a 5-3 record, 3.83 ERA and 82 strikeouts. However, the 35-year-old also once again dealt with injury trouble, as he also missed three months with a right shoulder strain. Keep in mind, he also only had eight starts over the two previous seasons due to injuries.Corey Kluber goes to Rays. 1 year. @Ken_Rosenthal 1st

However, Kluber did show signs of his old self during the 2021 season and could be even stronger for Tampa Bay. It certainly isn't a bad idea to take a chance on a two-time AL Cy Young Award winner and three-time All-Star. Furthermore, with it being only a one-year contract, it doesn't come with much risk at all.
In 225 games between the Cleveland Indians, Texas Rangers and Yankees, Kluber has a 103-61 record and 3.19 ERA. Here's to hoping he's able to remain healthy with the Rays from here. If he does, he could be a fantastic addition for them.
