Report: 5 Teams Make Offers to Marcus Stroman

If you ask Marcus Stroman he will tell you it would be a smart idea to bet on him for success over the next five-to-seven years. The free-agent starter is as confident as they come and is ready for his next chapter. Sounds like there's been a ton of interest in the 'Stro Show' and five teams have reportedly advanced talks.

The likes of the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Angels and New York Mets have all reportedly been in contact with Stroman and have serious interest in the 30-year-old.

At this point it's hard to pick a favorite but all accounts are the Angels may be the dark horse. They have a lineup that's playoff worthy but unfortunately lack pitching depth. Stroman would be a huge get for them and it certainly could happen. Boston is also considered a favorite as he's familiar with the AL East and could seek revenge on his former team in Toronto.

The Giants are probably the least interested after re-signing both Alex Wood and Anthony DeSclafani. Speaking of uninterested, you can cross off the New York Yankees because that's definitely not happening, even with Stroman being from the area. He's been outspoken about the franchise in the past and they have zero interest.

Last season Stroman finished the year with a 3.02 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP in 33 starts for the Mets. He's a pitching who relies on the ground ball and has a wide array of pitches to choose from. Perhaps there's nobody better in the game at keeping hitters off balanced. A decision is expected from Stroman as early on Thursday.
