In 773 career games over 14 MLB seasons, Soria had a 36-45 record, 3.11 ERA and 229 saves. He played for nine different franchises, so one could certainly describe him as a journeyman. He had stints with the Kansas City Royals, Texas Rangers, Detroit Tigers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago White Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, Oakland Athletics, Arizona Diamondbacks and Toronto Blue Jays.
However, he will always be remembered for being a Royal the most. He spent his prime years in the big-leagues with them and was once a top-of-the-line closer in the league. Due to this, he managed to play in two All-Star games in the process.
He spent the 2021 campaign with both the Diamondbacks and Blue Jays. In 41 games, he had a 1-4 record, six saves and a 5.06 ERA.
Congrats on a very solid career, Joakim!
