Milwaukee Brewers Sign Catcher
The Milwaukee Brewers have signed catcher Pedro Severino to a one-year, $1.9 million contract. The deal also comes with incentives and the 28-year-old can make another $400,000 from them.
Severino will likely be the new backup catcher for the Brewers for Omar Narvaez. Severino will also likely be their guy when the Brewers face a left-handed pitcher, as Narvaez struggles against them.
Severino is also coming off of a pretty decent year with the Baltimore Orioles. In 113 games, he had 11 home runs, 46 RBIs and a .248 batting average. Although it wasn't an All-Star campaign, he certainly had moments of being effective at the plate. Thus, this contract looks like a good one for the Brewers.Catcher Pedro Severino and the Milwaukee Brewers are in agreement on a one-year, $1.9 million contract, pending physical, sources familiar with the deal tell ESPN. Severino, 28, will join Omar Narvaez at catcher and has incentives in the deal that can earn him another $400,000.

Milwaukee needed a catcher, as Manny Pina recently signed with the Atlanta Braves. Overall, Severino isn't a bad replacement at all for them.
