Milwaukee Brewers And Tampa Bay Rays Strike A Deal
The Milwaukee Brewers have acquired infielder Mike Brosseau from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for pitching prospect Evan Reifert.
Brosseau is a nice utility player to have, as he can play second base, third base and first base. In 57 games this season with the Rays, he had five home runs, 18 RBIs and a .187 batting average.INF Mike Brosseau has been acquired from Tampa Bay in exchange for RHP Evan Reifert. pic.twitter.com/Rc9jbj8ZFi

However, during the shortened 2020 season, he noticeably did well at the plate. In 36 games, he had five home runs, 12 RBIs and an impressive .302 batting average. This was after a rookie season where he hit .273, so the potential to be a decent contact hitter is there. Perhaps the change of scenery will help him find his old groove.
As for Reifert, he just completed his first season in the minors and should be viewed as more of a project from here.
Nonetheless, this looks like a good move for the Brewers, especially if Brosseau can find his previous form. As for the Rays, they now have opened up another spot on their 40-man roster.
