Los Angeles Dodgers Utilityman To Reject Qualifying Offer
Without much surprise, Chris Taylor will be rejecting the Los Angeles Dodgers' one-year, $18.4 million qualifying offer, according to Jon Heyman. With this, the utilityman will officially be a free agent.
Due to the fact that Taylor is coming off of a career season, it makes a plethora of sense for him to test the market. In 148 games during the 2021 campaign, the 31-year-old had 20 home runs, 73 RBIs and a .254 batting average. With that, he appeared in his first All-Star Game.According to sources, Chris Taylor will decline the Dodgers $18.4M qualifying offer

Yet, Taylor truly shined during the postseason at the plate. In 11 games, he had four home runs, 12 RBIs and a .351 batting average. His most notable performance occurred during the Atlanta Braves in Game 5 of the NLCS, as he hit three of his home runs in it.
Due to the fact that Taylor is also capable of playing outfield, shortstop and second base, there should be a ton of teams interested in him. This, in turn, will only enhance his value, too. Therefore, it's truly a no-brainer for him to go after his big contract. This may be his last chance to do so.
