Cincinnati Reds Engaged in More Trade Talks
The Cincinnati Reds are willing to make some moves this offseason and one name to watch out for is starting pitcher Luis Castillo. Rumor has the team is shopping Castillo and is engaged in trade talks with several teams.
Trade market news: #Reds RHP Luis Castillo, who had a 2.73 ERA from June 1 onward, already is drawing interest from teams across @MLB. The Reds are willing to engage in talks on the 28-year-old, who will be eligible for free agency after ‘23. @MLBNetwork

Any deal involving Castillo is going to take a massive offer for the Reds to reach an agreement. This includes likely three top-end prospects, including at least one from the organizations' top-10 list. Castillo has two years left of team control and won't be a free agent until after the 2023 season.
While it wasn't the start he was looking for Castillo managed to turn it around in 2021. He was effective June on, throwing 135.1 innings, posting a 2.73 ERA, with only 11 HR and 52 walks given up, striking out 144 batters.
Castillo is arbitration eligible and is in line for a nice pay day, in the ballpark of $7.6 million. Expect to see the Reds make a slew of moves this winter as the team is looking to shed some payroll. Castillo is going to be one big name shipped out of town...and soon.
