2 Teams Favored to Sign SP Marcus Stroman
Marcus Stroman is one of the best pitchers in baseball and all you have to do is ask him. The New York Mets righty has hit the open market and is generating interest from a number of clubs. Two teams however, have become favorites to sign the free agent hurler.
Houston Astros: The Astros are first trying to figure out if shortstop Carlos Correa is walking and if so are going to go all in on a couple of starting pitchers. Stroman is a infielders dream as he's a ground ball machine who keeps the defense on their toes.
Last season in the Big Apple, Stroman fired a 10-13 record with a 3.02 ERA which was among the league leaders. Stroman is essentially a .500 pitcher for his career, but has shown with the Toronto Blue Jays he's capable of coming to life in the games biggest moments. The Astros know all about big moments and they know about being doubted, Stroman seems like the perfect fit there.
St Louis Cardinals: The Cardinals are looking for ground ball pitching and if they decide to spend big this winter it will be on a pitcher like Stroman.
There's a buzz around the city that Stroman is the piece this offseason and it will be up to management to deliver. The 5'7 starter is looking for a contending team to sign with and St Louis is always in the mix in the NL. Expect to see Stroman's contract come in around 5-years and $110 million.
It is a great day for the @Cardinals to sign Marcus Stroman

Welcome to the Cardinals, Marcus Stroman. It is going to happen, folks. It’s as obvious as the Arenado trade. #STLFLY https://t.co/ZBBhyNzRoQ
