That Time Juan Soto Saved Halloween For Nationals' Kids
We already know that Juan Soto is one of the greatest hitters of the new generation. One of the faces of the game. And he's only 22. But now former teammate Sean Doolittle's wife has shared the coolest story on social media of the time that Soto saved Halloween for all of the Nationals' players kids.
They had just won the World Series in 2019, but the Halloween flight home from Houston wasn't going to land in time for the players' young children—decked out in their costumes—to make their trick-or-treat routes. The kids were devastated. And then came Juan Soto to the rescue, as explained by Eirrean Dolan, Doolittle's wife.
But it was Halloween. Many players/coaches/staff had their families with them, including their young children. All the kids showed up to the flight in costumes. But we wouldn’t land in time for them to get home and go trick or treating…

~20 minutes into the flight, Juan Soto got out of his seat with several bags of candy and gave each of us a handful. Then he went to the kids, gave them bags, and told them to go trick or treating on the flight. So they went row by row and we each gave them a piece of candy…

This prob seems small and silly. Those kids were super lucky to begin with; they just watched their team win the World Series and they were on the team plane (a rare occurrence)! And then the team’s superstar found a way for them to trick or treat. Juan Soto is just the coolest.

Soto gave bags of candy to all the parents on the flight, and then handed out trick-or-treat bags to all the little ones, so that they could do their rounds on the flight back to DC.
Did we need another reason as to why Soto is one of the great faces of baseball for the next 10-15 years? He'd already cemented himself in that position, but this story, as told by Dolan, "is just the coolest."
