Tears All Around As Kyle Seager Bids Emotional Farewell to Seattle
He’s been the team leader on and off the field for 11 years, but it’s likely that Kyle Seager played his last game for the Seattle Mariners on Sunday. Saying goodbye is never easy, and it certainly wasn’t for Seager, his teammates or the Seattle fans. Classy move by manager Scott Servais as he removed Seager in the 9th so that he could be given the send-off that he deserved.

Each and every one of his teammates had hugs and words for him, as the fans gave Seager a heart-felt standing ovation. Seager was clearly emotional as he made his way through the greeting line and off to the dugout. Then it was young teammate JP Crawford's turn, and he simply couldn't fight off the tears...

To top it all off, the third baseman Seager was given third base itself as a gift.

The Mariners have a $20 million option on Seager for 2022, or can buy him out for $2 million, which seems inevitable. In fact, Seager says he hasn't spoken to Seattle GM Jerry DiPoto in years.
“I haven’t heard anything,” Seager told . “We haven’t had a conversation in years, probably four years. We don’t communicate at all. Not even passing by in the hall ….”
Sounds like this is indeed 'goodbye Kyle'.
