Colorado Rockies Sign First Baseman To Extension
The Colorado Rockies are having themselves a busy day. After signing Antonio Senzatela to an extension, they now have done the same thing with first baseman C.J. Cron. They have signed the 31-year-old to a two-year, $14.5 million contract.

It makes sense that the Rockies wanted to keep Cron around, as he was excellent in his first season with the team. In 142 games, he had 28 home runs, 92 RBIs and a .281 batting average. It was a nice bounce back season for the veteran. In 2020, he was limited to just 13 games with the Detroit Tigers where he had four home runs and a .190 batting average.
If he can continue to play that well over these next two seasons, this could end up being a steal of a contract. It's never a bad thing to have a player who is capable of hitting 25 to 30 home runs per season under a deal like that.
