3 Teams Who Should Try To Sign Kevin Gausman

Kevin Gausman had the best season of his career this year and at the perfect time. The 30-year-old pitcher accepted a qualifying offer from the Giants last off-season and now has the chance to land a multi-year deal on the open market. He was spectacular this past season, as he sported a 14-6 record and 2.81 ERA. He also appeared in his first All-Star Game in the process. With all of this, he should be able to get himself a nice raise on his new contract.

Here are three teams who should go after him.

San Francisco Giants: The Giants certainly should try to re-sign Gausman. He is not eligible for a qualifying offer, as that's what he received this season from the team. Therefore, for the Giants to keep him around, they will have to be willing to spend a good amount for him. Like we stated above, he is coming off of an All-Star campaign.

Miami Marlins: Derek Jeter has stated that the Marlins will be aggressive this off-season. If he's truly willing to spend a lot of money to bring in good players, Gausman could be someone they look at. It wouldn't hurt the Marlins to add another arm to their rotation, especially if they want to become a playoff team.

Washington Nationals: Although the Nationals had a disastrous season this year, they should be looking to turn it around quickly. When you have a true superstar in Juan Soto on your roster, you have to be competitive. Pitching should be one of the areas where they look to improve upon this season, so Gausman could very well be a fit in DC.
