The Big Hurt Purchases a Field of Dreams

Hall of Fame DH Frank Thomas, who smashed 521 home runs and batted .301 in his legendary career, has led a group of investors to purchase the Field of Dreams movie site, as well as the adjacent farm which showcased this year's Field of Dreams Classic between the Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees.
Thomas is set to be the CEO of Go the Distance Baseball while former LA Dodgers general manager Dan Evans will be the COO.

Next year, the Field of Dreams Classic will feature the Cincinnati Reds against the Chicago Cubs, two of the oldest teams in Major League Baseball.

Thomas played the great majority of his career for the White Sox, where he earned back-to-back AL MVP Awards in 1993 & 1994. Four times he led the league in OBP, walks and OPS on top of winning one batting title in 1997 with a .347 average. He split the last four years of his career between Toronto and Oakland - where he experience a resurgence in his career during the 2006 season, when he crushed 39 home runs and batted in 114 runs while finished fourth in MVP voting. Despite playing in the heart of the steroid era, Thomas was never implicated or associated with any rumors about PEDs, thus he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2014, getting 83.7% of the vote, being inducted alongside Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine
