LA Angels Manager Calls Out Team Management
Sometimes when you want something, you let your boss know and see what happens. Los Angeles Angels bench boss Joe Maddon took this approach this week, as the veteran skipper was very blunt with his evaluation of his team's pitching rotation. Frankly, it's just not good enough and Maddon wants to see some changes.
Maddon met with the media on Wednesday and had this to say as the call for help has been sent to Angels' management:
This can’t continue to go on. We can’t annually be in this position. This organization is better than that. We deserve better than that. We have to go out and earn it. What’s your agenda next year? Is it to participate in the American League West and hopefully, possibly make it to the end and play a game in October?. That should never be the situation. My point is, we have to get guys that we think are ready to win right now, in that rotation, in order to get to where you want to be. Otherwise, you’re going to keep perpetuating this.
The Angels are going to miss the playoffs for the seventh straight season. There's a variety of talented arms on the market this summer including Robbie Ray, Max Scherzer, Zack Grienke and Justin Verlander. Look for the Angels to try and make a splash and add some talent. If they don't, Maddon will be back on the mic in no time.
