VIDEO: New York Mets GM Calls Out His Team
The New York Mets can't seem to string together any wins of late and their general manager is sick and tired of it. GM Zack Scott didn't hold back on his team and can't believe their collapse continues.
Scott spoke to the media on Tuesday and had this to say about his ballclub:
For this stretch, it's been unacceptably bad, and we need to be better. But we're not going to panic because you can't do that in this game. I'm not saying that to vilify players. It's just part of what happens sometimes. These guys are professionals, and for the most part, they're locked in on what they're supposed to do. But even though everyone's on you to hydrate, at some point, you've got to take the responsibility. We're not just going to stick a needle in someone to hydrate them
The Mets haven't made the playoffs since 2016 and it doesn't appear that's going to be changing this season. The team is 21-29 since June 17 and after leading the division for most of the season now find themselves a few games back and free falling.
