Details Revealed on the Status of Dodgers Ace Clayton Kershaw
The Los Angeles Dodgers have yet to play a baseball game this season at full strength as the team has battled injuries this entire year. While the team is busy introducing some new players and working through getting rid of Trevor Bauer, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts recently met with the media and gave an update on the status of Ace Clayton Kershaw.
Roberts informed the media Kershaw will return to the mound this season, but not anytime soon. The latest word is 'sometime in September' as he's dealing with left forearm inflammation. He last pitched on July 3 when he allowed a few earned runs over four frames.
At 33, Kershaw is slowly creeping up there in age and any injury is a scare. The Dodgers rotation is scary good when everyone is healthy, even without Bauer in the mix. The likes of Max Scherzer, Walker Buehler and Julio Urias will welcome back Kershaw with open arms.
So far this season, the lefty was off to a good start with a 3.39 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP, including 127 strikeouts in 18 starts. Look out for the Dodgers once everyone is healthy.
