Anthony Rizzo Sets Record, Taking Yankee Stadium By Storm

Anthony Rizzo had spent his entire 11 year career with the Chicago Cubs, but it's taken him no time at all to adjust to life as a New York Yankee. Wednesday night he entered the Yankees record book, becoming the first in the team's long and illustrious history to record an RBI in his first 6 games with the club.

He's also hit three home runs in those 6 games, scored 8 runs, and batted .400 with a 1.369 OPS.  Rizzo is soaking it all in:

It's definitely special. ... A lot of kids out there dream of playing for the New York Yankees growing up. It's something I'll never take for granted.

Don't look now, but the Yankees are 16-8 in their last 24 games, tied with the Tampa Bay Rays for the best record in the majors during that stretch. And Rizzo is helping to keep it going.

MLB Insider Ken Rosenthal says the former Cubs first baseman is exactly what this Yankees team needed:

Rosenthal says Rizzo "likes to have fun", and has added some much-needed "levity" to the team.

Yankee fans are definitely the ones laughing right now.
