Washington Nationals Dealt Brutal Injury News
One of the hottest hitters in baseball will be hitting the shelve and by the sounds of it, it could be for awhile. Washington Nationals outfielder Kyle Schwarber has been tearing the cover off the baseball lately, but unfortunately may have torn his hamstring in the process.
The team placed Schwarber on the injured list on Saturday in what the team is calling a significant hamstring injury. He won't require surgery, just rest and treatment, it's just not known at this time how long that's going to take. After the MRI, it was revealed he would be out awhile.

16 HR in his last 18 games, tied with Barry Bonds (2001) and Sammy Sosa (1998) for most over an 18-game span in MLB history

The slugger is coming off one of the hottest months in MLB history. The 28-year-old hurt himself on Friday night rounding the bases on a single, probably because he's done nothing but hit bombs lately. Schwarber hit 16 HR in June, and 12 of them came within a 10-game span.
The Nationals currently sit 3.5 games back of the division leading New York Mets and hope they can find some offense by committee in Schwarber's absence.
