Two Top Trade Destinations for Anthony Rizzo
As the trade deadline approaches in major league baseball, there are a few contenders who have a gaping hole at first base, and are looking for a serious upgrade. Then you have the Chicago Cubs, who have waved the white flag, and happen to have a legitimate slugging gold glove first baseman to trade. Leads you to believe something's going to get done.
The top trade destinations for Rizzo:
1. Boston Red Sox
This would be coming full circle for Rizzo; going back to the team that drafted him in 2007, bringing with him a championship pedigree, gold glove defense at 1B, and a solid offensive upgrade at the position.
The BoSox have been making do mostly with rookie Bobby Dalbec, and that has them ranked with the 4th-worst production at first base in the AL, with a .215 average and a .653 OPS. Rizzo's OPS, even in a down year for him, is well over 100 points better, at .781.
Rizzo's return to the Boston organization makes a lot of sense.

2. Milwaukee Brewers
Here's a team with a starting rotation just made for playoff success: three guys that are practically unhittable in Corbin Burnes, Brandon Woodruff and Freddie Peralta.

But that offense can still use a boost. The Willy Adames trade has been an unexpected windfall for Milwaukee, but they still have a hole at first base to fill.
Enter Anthony Rizzo. Bringing his veteran presence, a winning attitude, and a World Series ring to boot. MLB Network Radio's Steve Phillips says "For the Brewers, Rizzo could be a real difference-maker.... Why NOT make a deal like that?"
Overall, Phillips summed it up: "Rizzo to the Red Sox, Rizzo to the Brewers, sure feels like potential good fits."
