Trade Rumor: Yankees Ready to Deal for This Big Bat

It’s no secret the New York Yankees’ offense has had its troubles this year. Aaron Judge has been the only reliable power bat all season. But they may be on the verge of addressing that weakness, as they look to acquire Joey Gallo from the Texas Rangers.

Joel Sherman of the New York Post has reported that the Yankees have "consistently had eyes" on Gallo, who has been red-hot of late, and is tied for 5th in the majors with 24 home runs.

As the report goes on to state, Gallo has a colossal OPS of 1.276 since the sticky stuff crackdown, and would be a huge addition blasting bombs from the left side of the plate in Yankee Stadium for half his games.

The two-time All-Star also has position flexibility, able to play all three outfield positions (and the Yankees could certainly use help at two of them), as well as playing a bit of first base, and of course DH.

The only stumbling block here is the price. Gallo still has one more year of team control after this one, so the cost will be high. Is Yankees GM Brian Cashman ready to meet the Rangers' asking price?
