Trade Complete: Mets Get Rotation Help From The Rays
The New York Mets are getting some help for their injury-riddled starting rotation, trading for Rich Hill from the Tampa Bay Rays. In exchange, the Mets send injured pitcher Tommy Hunter and minor leaguer Matt Dyer to Tampa.
Rich Hill is plus for Mets rotation, which is beset by injuries. Deal done pending medicals.

The Mets had only 3 starters active in their rotation before this deal, explained here by Ron Darling on MLB Network:

Marcus Stroman, Taijuan Walker and Tylor Megill were the only healthy bodies in the Mets rotation.
For the Rays, they've got starter Chris Archer just about ready to rejoin their staff, which allowed them to trade Hill.
Tampa has been busy with only a week to go until the trade deadline, as they just acquired slugging DH Nelson Cruz from the Minnesota Twins yesterday.
Now they've essentially swapped 41-year-olds: Cruz in, and Hill out.
