The Minnesota Twins May Trade Veteran Pitcher
According to Jon Morosi, teams are calling about the availability of Minnesota Twins' pitcher, Michael Pineda.
The Minnesota Twins are currently at the bottom of the AL Central, so they are set to be sellers this trade deadline. Pineda is a very interesting trade target, as he only has one year left on his contract and is set to be an unrestricted free agent this off-season. His immense experience will certainly continue to bring in a lot of interest, too.#Twins starter Michael Pineda is drawing trade interest ahead of Friday's deadline, source says. Pineda, 32, will be a free agent after the season. His start Monday against the #Tigers will be watched closely by the industry. @MLB @MLBNetwork

In 13 games this season, the 32-year-old has a 4-5 record to go along with a 3.93 ERA. Contending teams looking for a bit more depth in their rotation should consider trading for him. Some potential fits could be the San Francisco Giants, Boston Red Sox and San Diego Padres. Perhaps even the New York Yankees could trade for him because he is a familiar face and they want to make a playoff push.
At the end of the day, trading Pineda now seems better than losing him for nothing at season's end.
