Yankees and Pirates Discussing Pitching Trade

The New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Pirates have apparently held some trade discussions recently and the name to watch here is starting pitcher Tyler Anderson.

It's no secret ever since the MLB has cracked down on sticky stuff, the Yankees rotation has struggled. And while it's not necessarily directly related, it certainly looks that way. As for Anderson, he's a 31-year-old southpaw who could fit in nicely behind Gerrit Cole and Corey Kluber for the pin stripes.

So far this season, Anderson is 4-8 with a 4.39 ERA and in 92.1 innings has struck out 78. He doesn't have tremendous blow by/swing and miss type of stuff, but he pitches low in the zone and to contact. The Pirates aren't the greatest defensive team, so perhaps his numbers can improve in the Bronx. The Yankees would only need to give up a couple of mid-level prospects to complete this deal.

Keep an eye on these two teams as one will be selling and the other one, well they're the Yankees and you just never know. Yesterday we shared a huge rumor about trading Aaron Judge. It appears everyone is a touch confused in New York.
