Rumor: Blue Jays Bringing In Another HUGE Bat!
As if the Toronto Blue Jays' offense isn't scary enough for opposing pitching staffs, word from Jon Heyman today is that they're considering adding DH Nelson Cruz from the Minnesota Twins.
A’s and Jays are among possibilities for All-Star Nelson Cruz. Can you imagine Toronto’s lineup with Cruz? @MLBNetwork

Make no mistake, the ageless Cruz (if you consider 41 ageless) is having another incredible season, batting .304 with an OPS of .939 along with 18 HR. His bat still has plenty of thunder.
But adding another bat to an already thunderous lineup might not be the best way for Toronto to spend its prospect capital, what with a bullpen that still needs plenty of help. It's possible Cruz would be part of a bigger deal that would include one of the Twins' very solid back-end relievers, like Taylor Rogers.
As much as it would be a freak show to see Cruz' bat added to the Jays' lineup, questions abound about how to make room for him with a glut of starting outfielders already being used in the DH slot.
Makes no sense. They'll have 5 big league outfielders to rotate through DH when Dickerson gets back

Heyman also mentions the Oakland A's as having Cruz on their radar. That IS a team that could use a DH, as Mitch Moreland was not the answer for them, and he's now on the Injured List. This move definitely makes sense.
