"I never thought this could happen for me": Jesse Winker In Tears Over All-Star Selection

One of the best stories of this year's MLB All-Star Voting results has to be the appearance of Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jesse Winker. He was voted in as an outfield starter for the NL, along with his teammate Nick Castellanos, and Ronald Acuna Jr.  Winker was extremely emotional when discussing his selection:

"I never thought this could happen for me," Winker said. "It means a lot to me... I'm speechless."

The tears really started up when he was asked about how much this means to his family:

"I just can't believe it... It's a dream come true," said Winker, through tears.

In addition to thanking his teammates, and all the fans that voted for him, Winker also thanked his hometown Buffalo Bills of the NFL, and childhood home team the Orlando Magic of the NBA, two teams that helped push the Winker vote on social media.

This is an especially emotional honor for Winker, who has had trouble staying healthy in his career up until this year, never having played more than 113 games in any of his five seasons with the Reds.

But Winker has been healthy so far this year, and he's been raking. He already has career highs of 19 HR and 48 RBI and a .322 batting average. He also became the first player in Reds history to notch TWO three-HR games this season.

Well done, Jesse Winker. And well done, Reds fans, Bills fans and Magic fans.
