"I Have Many Mouths To Shut Up": Aroldis Chapman Punches Back on Social Media!
New York Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman is fighting back.
Chapman has had a abysmal time of it over the last few weeks; since the sticky stuff crackdown, he has the worst numbers of any reliever in baseball, and has cost the Yankees several games with some strikingly bad blown saves. And Yankee fans are letting him have it. He's been booed off the mound, and slammed on social media. He tried to avoid the controversy, and even went so far as to turn his IG profile private.
But now he's come out swinging.
For all those people that criticizes my bad moments, I will tell them that I do not know how my story ends, but in its pages you will never read

"I gave up"
So I will move on, I still have many wars to win and many mouths to shut up. pic.twitter.com/72Gm8PCnm4
"I do not know how my story ends," he writes on both Twitter and Instagram. "But in its pages you will never read 'I gave up'.
"So I will move on, I still have many wars to win and many mouths to shut up."
It remains to be seen if he can start shutting some mouths on the mound, as he's given up 14 runs and 24 baserunners in his last 5.2 innings for a 22.26 ERA (!!) and a WHIP of 4.24 (!!). His season ERA has jumped from 0.37 to 4.71.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone has left the door open to using Chad Green and Jonathan Loaisiga in save situations until Chapman can figure things out.
For now at least, he's won some fans over with his heated plea on social media.
@AChapman_105: You’re a great fighter. And I know you’ll never give up. I believe in you and your ability to get through this and win.
