Detroit Tigers Pitcher Out Indefinitely
Spencer Turnbull will undergo Tommy John surgery, A.J. Hinch announced. Tests revealed chronic damage in his elbow. Typical timetable for return is 12-18 months.

It was discovered that Turnbull has chronic damage to his pitching arm and needs to undergo Tommy John surgery, which he will have in late July in Alabama.
Turnbull has had a mediocre career thus far, after being a 2nd round pick of the Tigers in 2014. Following an abysmal 2019 season in which Turnbull went a MLB-worst 3-17 during the Tigers, the highlight of his career took place earlier this year as he no-hit the Seattle Mariners.
