Big Red Sox Prospect Set To Make His Debut

Jarren Duran is expected make his debut for the Boston Red Sox tonight against the New York Yankees, according to Joe McDonald.

The 24-year-old is the team's top outfield prospect, so expectations are quite high. It also is important to note that he was a seventh round pick back in the 2018 MLB Draft. Now, he is among the best prospects in all baseball.

In Triple-A this season with the WooSox, Duran has played marvelously and has made it clear that he's ready for MLB action. In 46 games there, the center fielder has a .270 batting average to go along with a very impressive 15 home runs. This kind of power at the plate will be welcomed by Boston, as they could use a spark in center field. Enrique Hernandez has been holding the position, but he is more acclimated at second base. He may now split time with Christian Arroyo there if all goes to plan with Duran.

At this said time, the Red Sox are 55-36 and first in the American League East. If Duran's power can translate to the MLB level, this will make them an even stronger team. Furthermore, Duran's speed is another huge part of his game, so he can be a real threat on the basepaths, too. This blend of power and speed should make Red Sox fans excited to see him begin his career.
