Angels Acquire Veteran Outfielder

Mike Trout has been out for two months, and Justin Upton has been out for a couple of weeks, so the Los Angeles Angels have decided to shore up their outfield depth by adding veteran Adam Eaton.

Eaton was just released by the Chicago White Sox two days ago. The 32-year-old veteran will immediately fill in the outfield corner positions for the Angels.

The team has been so short of outfielders in recent weeks, they've been playing little-heralded infielders Luis Rengifo, Phil Gosselin and Jose Rojas in the corner OF spots.

Eaton has had a tough couple of years, hitting only .226 for the Washington Nationals last season, and .201 for the ChiSox this year. But he's a 10-year vet, and his presence will help hold the fort down until Trout and Upton make it back.

Trout has been out since May 17th, and is expected to start a rehab assignment in the near future, with hopes of being back by the beginning of August. Upton has been out with a bad back, and should return sooner.
