White Sox and Diamondbacks Finalizing Trade
The Chicago White Sox continue to look for a new second baseman after Nick Madrigal suffered a season ending injury and it sounds like they are closing in on a deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Chicago #WhiteSox, looking for a replacement for 2B Nick Madrigal, are engaged in trade talks with the #Dbacks for Eduardo Escobar, who's being shopped. Escobar, who's earning $7.5M in the final year of his contract, is hitting .240 with 15 homers, 45 RBI with a .743 OPS.

The Diamondbacks are looking for multiple mid-level prospects in any trade for Escobar and are talking to several teams about their infielder. So far this season, Escobar has been solid with 15 HR and 45 RBI and could see his batting average creep closer to the .270 mark by season's end.
Eduardo Escobar holds about $4.2M of salary left in 2021, while the #WhiteSox remain a healthy $38M away from the luxury tax threshold. https://t.co/3C1TAtvdnB

Sounds like some White Sox fans will be ok with this trade, while others not so much:
If the White Sox get Eduardo Escobar, I’m cool with that.

I dunno if I’m in on Eduardo Escobar or not. He apparently brings much needed power... but I don’t know how that is happening since I saw him play here and I thought he’d struggle in my 80 mph cage.

sorry i don’t see why everyone wants eduardo escobar so badly

White Sox acquiring Eduardo Escobar, who they never should've traded away in the first place, because they "know him," instead of a better second baseman, would be incredibly on brand.

Eduardo Escobar is good versus LHP and not good vs RHP.... so he'll fit right in
