NSFW: Blue Jays Manager Calls Out His Bullpen After Another Meltdown
It was the same ol' story for the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday night. The Blue Jays were facing the New York Yankees and while their offense showed up, their bullpen did the best job they could to hand over the game.
Jays manager Charlie Montoyo is sick and tired of his lineup having a good night just to watch his bullpen imploded:
It's been every fucking month, I mean, the whole month about the same thing. ... These are who we've got, and we're going to trust them. This is who we've got. We're here to win games. t's been frustrating because we have been playing good baseball. It's just that when your bullpen struggles, nothing is going to work
Toronto had a three run lead heading into the sixth inning and five different relievers couldn't get the job done over the final three frames. The Blue Jays are scoring runs at will, ranking fifth in the AL. Meanwhile over the past month, the bullpen's ERA is 5.10, ranking them 25th.
Here's Montoyo going off as this is a cry to general manager Ross Atkins to find the team some new arms:
"We're here to win games, and it's been frustrating because we have been playing good baseball. When your bullpen struggles, nothing's going to work."
