More Trades Coming from Toronto Blue Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays have one of the most feared lineups in all of baseball but one problem...nobody is scared of their pitching staff. The Jays have struggled this year to find some consistent pitching, specifically out of the bullpen and while general manager Ross Atkins has made a couple of minor deals, expect some more trades to come over the next few weeks.
The GM confirmed the team was very active in trade talks over the weekend and focused on adding to the bullpen:
The opportunity to add to our bullpen and complement our bullpen is what we're focused on right now. We'll continue working on that. As it relates to urgency, we were thinking of that and working on it when our bullpen was pitching better. We're constantly thinking about how we can make this organization better, and will continue to do that
While the Jays have acquired Jacob Barnes and signed John Axford, they certainly aren't done. With injuries mounting up to some key pieces, and some others struggling to find the strike zone, if the Jays don't do something soon, they are going to pitch their way out of a playoff spot. A couple more trades and a call up of Nate Pearson could go a long way for this ball club.
