"I Beat Them. They Got Crushed!": Tommy Pham Wins Max Settlement in Stabbing Lawsuit

San Diego Padres outfielder Tommy Pham is an intense individual. So when the strip club he sued over his offseason stabbing incident settled by paying him a "max settlement", he marked his vindication with a little trash talk.

Pham sued the club for security negligence. "I beat them. They ended up choosing to settle with me for the max," said Pham. "They got crushed. All of the evidence was there, they had to ante up."

The stabbing occurred last October outside a San Diego strip club. It left a 12-inch gash across his back, and took 200 stitches to repair.

And to add insult to injury, it left Pham in a weakened physical state, which caused him to have a brutally slow start to the season, and could vastly impact his earning potential when he becomes a free agent after this season.

Pham batted just .182 through the first six weeks of the season, but has recovered in the last month to up his average to .250. His run production number are down as well, with just 7 HR and 23 RBI.

“I’m working to get back my strength," he says. “I can imagine by next month, my power numbers will really spike.’’

Ever the intense optimist, Pham was never going to give up just because of a measly 12-inch stab wound.
